Be Seen by the Best at Excellent Caring Medical Clinic
Staying healthy is crucial but—all too often—not much fun. Neither is wrangling doctor’s appointments, medical insurance paperwork, or medication reminders. Having a provider who cares, understands, and supports you is key.
Many healthy, low-risk adults chose high deductible plans to keep monthly payments low but then put off routine care, preventive visits, or follow-up treatment. So too, do those struggling with speaking, reading, or writing the English language. If this sounds all-too-familiar, consider visiting one of the two new Excellent Caring Medical Clinic locations of skilled, dedicated Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner, Galina Dixon.
A Unique Approach to Healthcare
“As a child, it was always my dream to be a medical provider. I wanted to help people improve their health and manage their health issues. Now, as an adult, working in the medical field has given me professional and intellectual fulfillment. I enjoy going to work each day and find great personal satisfaction in seeing my patients learn to better manage their health,” says Dixon.
A doctor for many years in her native Russia, Dixon emigrated to the U.S. in 1998 and became an accredited Nurse Practitioner with a focus on primary care and pain management. Opening her own clinics is a dream come true and she’s excited to start scheduling new patients.
“Managing my own practice will allow me flexibility to utilize best practices of care within appropriate guidelines while making maximum use of my years of experience and my skills. My approach to providing excellent care is to be responsive to patients within available guidelines and standards. I listen closely to each patient. I want to understand their perspective as I initiate treatment responsive to their needs.
We all make choices in our lives that affect our health. Each patient can do many things to improve their health. In my practice, I focus not only on responding to a patient’s current concerns. I recommend preventive care for each patient as a means of avoiding future health issues. I communicate opportunities for them to better manage their own physical wellbeing.
I hope to have patients who seek understanding of the health challenges they face, who want to learn about ways to better deal with those challenges. I enjoy working with adult patients who want to improve their health,” says Dixon.
Catering to adults aged 13 and up, Excellent Caring Medical Clinic will be a special blessing to the region’s underserved Russian-speaking population. It’s been reported that patients with language barriers have higher rates of “impaired health status, lower likelihood of having a usual source of medical care, lower rates of mammograms, pap smears and other preventive services, non-adherence with medications…Increased risk of drug complications, longer medical visits, higher resource utilization for diagnostic testing, lower patient satisfaction, [and] impaired patient understanding of diagnoses, medications and follow-up.”
Outside of work, Dixon loves hiking, sailing, and exploring Puget Sound, which she has called home since 2012. “I enjoy living here. Puget Sound is an extraordinarily beautiful area and I feel very fortunate to live and work here.”
For the best, individualized, one-on-one treatment, independent clinics are ideal. Dixon explains that she hopes to focus on four key mission aspects: Quality Outcomes, Personalized and Responsive Care, Accessibility/Utilizing Best Practices, and Integrity. “I look forward to meeting new patients and helping them deal with their health challenges and learn about how to improve their overall health,” she says.
